A lovely thing about spring is the switch to daylight savings time. Wait for the golden hour and see if you can snap the perfect family silhouette picture in the golden glow.

For the big kids… Unleash your creativity and have a go at taking shadow pictures of your own!

Our top tips for taking the perfect silhouette photo:

• You need to shoot against the source of light! In other words, put the setting sun or orange and pink coloured sky behind your family. This is what will create the shadows.

• Focus on the outlines, as that’s what your camera will see. If you’re using a phone to take your photos, touch the background so that your camera focuses on the background and you can watch your family become silhouettes.

• Hide the sun directly behind your subject for a really cool glowing effect!
