It’s Almost Here

We hope you are excited for the upcoming Elvis Cinematic Cocktails Experience!

We have curated some more fun tidbits and activities centered around all things Elvis to help get you in the mood pre event!

First Thing’s First, Music While You Get Ready!

Set the tone of the entire evening with some Elvis Presley classics, of course! We’ve gathered a few Elvis-themed playlists for you to have on in the background while you get glammed up for the evening. Don’t forget to check out the style guide for ideas on what to wear for your Creative Black-Tie look. Prizes will be awarded to the ‘most inspired’ and more! The more you dive in, the greater your chances of winning. Maybe practice some twists and rubber legs moves too, it could come in handy later on in the night for other prizes.

Get ready for the night with Elvis himself, we recommend giving This is Elvis Presley a listen or playing the ELVIS interactive playlist to learn more about how your favourite music genre links to Elvis!

Would you rather…. Elvis serenade you using just his guitar, or a 12 piece band?

Shake Up Your Own Elvis-Inspired Cocktail

It can’t be a party without a drink in hand, don’t worry we’ve got you covered. Get your night started off right with a cocktail Elvis would be proud of.

We recommend giving the Peachy Keen cocktail a try - a homage to Elvis’ favourite liquor, peach brandy! Elvis was known to take a shot of vodka before a show, so it is only fitting that you sip on some before your night at the Theatre.

With your cocktails in hand, cheers to the King of Rock!

Would you rather… chat with Elvis over cocktails when he was a young performer starting out in the 50s or in the 70s as a seasoned performer?

A Little More About Elvis

Elvis Presley was a ‘Mama’s Boy’ through and through. In fact his first record he ever recorded, That’s Alright Mama, was recorded for his mother as a gift! The recording session took place at Sun Records in Memphis, TN on a Saturday night in the Summer of 1953. The record that would jump start young Elvis’s music career and take him from a local truck driver to one of the best known musicians cost him a mere $3.98 USD. Two days after it was recorded, the single was released to Memphis radio station WHBQ!

Out of all the songs Elvis sang and performed, did you know he had never written any of them! His first big hit song Heartbreak Hotel was an ominous song about a man who jumped out of a window in a hotel in Kentucky. Elvis’s recording of Heartbreak Hotel was released in 1956 and became his first million dollar seller.

As his career grew so did his bank account! The young star was able to purchase Graceland Mansion at just 22 years old. He bought the mansion for $102,000 USD, which equal about $900,000 USD today! Though the famous mansions name is most associated with Elvis, he did not actually name the property! The property was named by the original owners, The Moores.

Nearing the end of his life, his final recordings were made in the Jungle Room at Graceland Mansion. Arguably the most captivating room in Graceland, the Jungle Room was where Elvis really let his decorative taste go wild. The kitschy den, featuring green shag carpet, plastic plants, wood paneling and tiki-inspired decor, was where the King spent much of his time.

We could go on and on, of course, but you’ll find out much more about the icon tonight!

Would you rather… hang out with Elvis in the infamous Jungle Room at Graceland Mansion, or on his private jet Lisa Marie, which he named after his daughter?

Be Prepared For The Night Ahead…

No one wants to drink on an empty stomach! You should plan to arrive having eaten a substantial meal before. You can make a whole night of it and stop somewhere nearby for dinner! For a divine dinner in the area we recommend The Boom Boom Room or Donna Chang. If you run out of time there is food available for purchase at the cinema.

No ‘fashionably late’ arrivals, please! This experience starts at 7:30pm sharp.

We hope you have a fabulous time sipping and grooving through the night and discovering more about Elvis Presley!
