Let the fun begin!

Find your 4 weekly challenges below, including the weekly Flash Challenge! This week's Flash Challenge prize is a Mystery Picnic for Two!

We want to make sure you capture the fun in the best possible way, so we’ve created a few simple photography tips you can find at the bottom of this page.

Challenge One

Let’s ease into the first challenge with something we all love to do, EAT!

You guessed it, this week we are focusing on the sense of taste and challenging you to Blind Food Tasting competition!

We suggest making a night of it. Each of you plan out and pick up snacks for your partners tasting. Set a night aside this week to enjoy this little adventure together. Blindfold your partner with a scarf, tie or eye mask and feed them 3-5 tastings. See if they can guess the flavour, brand or variety!

Not sure which snacks to choose? Here’s some of our faves…

  • Chocolates brands

  • Flavoured chips

  • Berries and other fruits

  • Cheese varieties (of course)

  • Wine varieties

After you’ve enjoyed your blind tastings, keep the night going with a movie classic that we bet will make you want to keep nibbling on those leftovers - Chocolat

Challenge Two

TEXT ALERT!

Your first solo challenges will arrive via text message at surprise times during the week.

These are individual challenges so keep them secret from one another!

(Sshhh don’t post these online as there are others playing too!)

Challenge Three

For your first head-to-head competition, we’re calling upon your artistic talents!

Turn on some inspiring music, pour yourselves a drink to sip on (the looser you are the better!), and set up your impromptu art stations sitting across from one another.

Your challenge is to sketch a portrait of your partner as they are sitting across from you!

You will each need a few pieces of paper, pencil or colored pencils and an eraser. Before you begin creating your masterpieces, agree on a strict time limit to have your portraits completed by.

Then start the clock!

We suggest setting up a low barrier between yourselves so you cannot see one another’s portraits until the time is up.

Remember to snap a photo of you both with your artwork - it could be worth a fortune one day.

*No relationships should be harmed in the process 😉

Photography Tips

Want some advice on how to take the best photo? Give these ideas a try.

Get up close and personal

Unless you’re capturing a backdrop or large piece, try getting in close. Fill the frame with your subject to avoid too much wasted space!

Be aware of backgrounds

Don’t let things like rubbish bins or a sink full of dishes ruin your shot if you don’t want to intentionally include them.

Flash Lightening

Using a flash isn’t just for nighttime - sometimes, a bright day may create harsh shadows that you don’t like, so using a flash may allow a more even exposure.

Laugh, don’t smile…

A well-timed joke may lead to a more natural-looking shot rather than a cheesy ‘forced smile’.

Keep it simple

Try not to pack too much into your shot. Focus on one or two points of interest per shot.

Try framing

is there something you could use to frame your focal point, for example by shooting through a window or archway?
