Your Perfect Pairs
We have tailored your tastings to hit your taste buds at perfect times, so follow the order below. The tasting flight will be set up from left to right, so #1 below is the pairing furthest to the left.
Enjoy!
GO NUTS
To the left
Tiger Lager
Our first tasting at Rasa is a lager from Tiger Brewery in Singapore. Tiger is a full-bodied lager brewed in the tropical climate of Singapore, giving it an intense yet refreshing taste.
+
Chicken Satay
We have paired this beer with chicken satay and crispy tofu skewers in a spicy peanut sauce.
Why they are the perfect pair
Created in the same corner of the world, it’s no wonder these two pair well together. The full-bodied lager balances out the bold flavor of the peanut sauce. The intensely refreshing quality of the lager brings out the nuttiness.
SWEET AND SPICY
In the middle
Lychee Mojito
The second tasting you will be indulging in their famous Lychee Mojito. This is a spin on the classic rum mojito adding a sweet, Chinese fruit called lychee.
+
Roti Canai
The cocktail has been paired with Roti Canai, Indian fluffy bread with chicken curry potato dippings.
Why they are the perfect pair
Our most intense pairing yet, the sweetness of the lychee perfectly balances the spiciness of the curry dippings without either overpowering the other. Can you taste how the mint and lime in the mojito bring out the notes of lemongrass in the curry?
WARM aND FUZZY
to the right
Teh Tarik
Your final tasting is Teh Tarik, traditional Malaysian pulled tea. This Malaysian black chai tea is sweetened with condensed milk and served warm, making it reminiscent of what we know as a chai tea latte.
+
Pulut Panggang
We are matching this hot tea with traditional Pulut Panggang, which is grilled coconut sticky rice filled with dried shrimp and wrapped in a banana leaf.
Why they are the perfect pair
This sweet pairing makes for the perfect follow-up to the spicy and intense second pairing. Traditionally this Malay snack is served at tea time, so pairs perfectly with the Teh Tarik. Can you smell how the banana leaf brings out the aroma of the black tea? The coconut sticky rice highlights the sweetness of the tea, while the warmth of the tea seems to make the rice melt in your mouth. What do you think?
This concludes your tasting of Malaysian specialties at Rasa.
