The Quest Continues!

Find your 4 weekly challenges below. This week's Flash Challenge prize is an AmazingCo Premium Mystery Picnic for two, valued at $190!

Challenge One

This week’s Love Language challenge focuses on Words of Affirmation.

It’s time to take a stroll down memory lane and relive one of your very first dates together!

Dress in the same outfits, head to the same restaurant, or cook up that delicious romantic meal once again. Pay attention to the little details that made it so special.

Before the big date - record yourselves separately retelling the story of how you met! You can tell your story in whichever way works for you - a song, a poem, cute and funny flashcards or just spoken words.

Watch your videos together on your date and see how they differ!

Remember, this week’s Love Language Challenge is all about expressing your affection through the spoken word, so when you tell your story of how you met, sprinkle it with compliments and words of encouragement!

Challenge Two

Are you ready for a portrait paint off?

Find a picture of your partner that you’d like to draw or paint, it can be a cute toddler photo, an embarrassing holiday snap, or a more recent photo where they’re dressed to impress. It's up to you but try to keep it hidden from one another!

Find a comfy spot to set up your art tools and before you begin creating your masterpieces, agree on a strict time limit.

Then start the clock!

Don’t reveal your masterpieces until the very end - and remember to snap a photo of you both with your artwork - it could be worth a fortune one day ;)

Looking for warm up games? Try drawing each other blindfolded or with your non-writing hand!

Challenge Three

TEXT ALERT!

Your solo challenges will arrive via text message at surprise times during the week - these are individual challenges so keep them secret - keep them safe!

Take a picture of the pair of you next to your tall achievement for a successfully completed challenge.

Photography Tips

Want some advice on how to take the best photo?
Give these ideas a try.

  • Unless you are capturing a backdrop or large piece - try getting in close. Fill the frame with your subject to avoid too much wasted space!

  • Be aware of backgrounds - don’t let things like garbage bins or a passerby ruin your shot if you don’t want to intentionally include them in it! Change your angle or wait until people have passed by. It will be worth it!

  • See The Light! Take note of where the light is coming from - does it cast interesting shadows on your subject that you may want to capture or does it just hide the detail you need? Move around to find the best lit angle.

  • Using the flash isn’t just for night time - sometimes a bright day may create harsh shadows that you don’t like, so using the flash may allow a more even exposure.

  • Laugh, don’t smile...a well-timed joke will often lead to a more natural looking shot of your subject rather than a forced ‘cheese’

  • Try framing - is there something you could use to frame your focal point - e.g by shooting through a window or archway?

  • Keep it simple - try not to pack too much into your shot. Try focusing on one or two points of interest per shot.
