Challenge One

The Olympics is in full throttle and we LOVE watching the incredible gymnasts in action!

So it’s time for everyone to compete in an outdoor handstand competition - headstands and cartwheels are also welcome!

Challenge Two

Morning mist!

The best time to catch a perfect misty morning is between 5-7am, when the temperature is chilly, the wind is still and sky is clear. Set your alarm early, dress up warm and head out on a family adventure in search of the beautiful morning mist!

Who can spot it first?

Challenge Three

Wolves are animals that thrive in winter! On a cold winter's night, when the moon is bright, head outside and film the family doing their best wolf howl with the moon in shot.

Costumes such as animals onesies are encouraged!

Who has the best wolf howl?

It’s the fifth and final prize challenge!

Make a den!

Use pillows, doonas, sheets, chairs and anything you can find to create an amazing den. Make some yummy hot drinks and scramble in the den to watch a movie together, play story time or enjoy a family board game.

Our favourite will win a $200 Myer Voucher!

Photography Tips

Want some advice on how to take the best photo?
Give these ideas a try.

  • Unless you are capturing a backdrop or large piece - try getting in close. Fill the frame with your subject to avoid too much wasted space!

  • Be aware of backgrounds - don’t let things like garbage bins or a passerby ruin your shot if you don’t want to intentionally include them in it! Change your angle or wait until people have passed by. It will be worth it!

  • See The Light! Take note of where the light is coming from - does it cast interesting shadows on your subject that you may want to capture or does it just hide the detail you need? Move around to find the best lit angle.

  • Using the flash isn’t just for night time - sometimes a bright day may create harsh shadows that you don’t like, so using the flash may allow a more even exposure.

  • Laugh, don’t smile...a well-timed joke will often lead to a more natural looking shot of your subject rather than a forced ‘cheese’

  • Try framing - is there something you could use to frame your focal point - e.g by shooting through a window or archway?

  • Keep it simple - try not to pack too much into your shot. Try focusing on one or two points of interest per shot.
