Your next four challenges are below!

Time to get into another week of challenges including this week’s Flash Challenge - a chance to win a family pass to a wildlife centre!

Don’t forget those photography tips down below to help you capture the magic in the most wonderful of ways.

Challenge One

It’s time for a family bake off!

Have we all heard of the 80’s Aussie rubber ducky cake?

With popcorn, chips and yellow frosting - this certainly is a quirky yet delicious creation.

Using the duck as inspiration, split into two teams and create wacky desserts with popcorn or yellow frosting as the key ingredient!

(And, for those who are feeling especially adventurous, why not give the rubber ducky cake a go?!)

Challenge Two

It’s always a mad scramble to locate your winter woolies before stepping out into the great outdoors.

For this challenge, hide all the hats and scarfs you own in unusual places around the house. Now, set a timer for 10 minutes and see how many hats and scarfs the kids can find!

To complete the challenge, stack and balance as many hats as possible on the smallest family member’s head and wrap another family member up with all the scarfs - just like a mummy! Take a team photo!

Challenge Three

It’s time for a chilly competition!

Everyone must choose their favourite figurine and play the Free The Frozen Game! Click here and download the instructions.

Flash Challenge!
Play to win a family ticket to a wildlife centre!

Use a pack of colourful chalk to draw your family on the street pavement. Everyone must choose a different family member to draw. For a successfully completed challenge, take a picture of the family portrait with all the artists mimicking the drawing.

Our favourite will win a family pass to a wildlife centre in your city!

Remember to share this one to Instagram using #MyFamilyFunChallenge and tagging us at @AmazingCo.me (or @AmazingCo on Facebook). Entries close Monday night!

Photography Tips

Want some advice on how to take the best photo?
Give these ideas a try.

  • Unless you are capturing a backdrop or large piece - try getting in close. Fill the frame with your subject to avoid too much wasted space!

  • Be aware of backgrounds - don’t let things like garbage bins or a passerby ruin your shot if you don’t want to intentionally include them in it! Change your angle or wait until people have passed by. It will be worth it!

  • See The Light! Take note of where the light is coming from - does it cast interesting shadows on your subject that you may want to capture or does it just hide the detail you need? Move around to find the best lit angle.

  • Using the flash isn’t just for night time - sometimes a bright day may create harsh shadows that you don’t like, so using the flash may allow a more even exposure.

  • Laugh, don’t smile...a well-timed joke will often lead to a more natural looking shot of your subject rather than a forced ‘cheese’

  • Try framing - is there something you could use to frame your focal point - e.g by shooting through a window or archway?

  • Keep it simple - try not to pack too much into your shot. Try focusing on one or two points of interest per shot.
