Your Perfect Pairs

Your tastings will go in order of left to right. We have tailored this to hit your taste buds at the perfect times so try your best to stick to the order below!

Enjoy!

A FRESH START

The first drink of your tasting is the Du Von which is a Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa. This Sauvignon Blanc, from the Cape Town region, is going to be on the lighter side, it will be crisp and refreshing, and will be on the acidic side.

Your Du Von has been paired with deviled eggs which will be accompanied by pickled shrimp, crispy shallots and paprika.

Why they are the perfect pair

The Sauvignon Blanc is going to complement the richness of the deviled egg and refresh your palate. The wine will also complement the acidity from the pickled shrimp.

A TASTY SECOND

Next up in your tasting experience is a Chardonnay brought to you by Footprint from Western Cape region of South Africa. Initially you will taste hints of grapefruit and pear. It will be crisp and acidic in nature.

The Chardonnay has been paired with a cabbage wedge served with a bacon vinaigrette and onion soubise.

Why they are the perfect pair

They are paired because the Chardonnay is a fairly low impact, bright drink that is driven in flavor by citrus. These flavors make a great connection with and create balance with the bacon vinaigrette and onion soubise.

A COZY ENDING

Our final tasting is a Cabernet Sauvignon by Stellekaya from the Stellenbosch region of South Africa. This Cabernet Sauvignon is an intense, full-bodied red wine with notes of cedar, black currants and a hint of cranberry. These notes all bring together a balance of flavors.

This wine has been paired with meatloaf meatballs. The meatloaf meatballs will be accompanied by a stewed tomato ragout, potato crisps and potato creme.

Why they are the perfect pair

Let’s just say this is a match made in cozy heaven. The wine is going to bring additional flavor and depth to the dish.
