Ready To
Start Tasting?
For your next tasting you will be trying out three different traditional Vietnamese dishes, each paired with wine and their special tap beer. Each have been paired up so that the flavours complement each other and highlight the best elements of each dish. Enjoy!
A FRESH START
Our first tasting at Trang is their very special tap beer. A lager, but a lager for everyone. First time beer drinkers tend to gravitate towards ales for their fruity and sweet undertones. This lager may have you changing your mind - it’s crisp, clean and bright! Ask your server for more information on brewery information!
We have paired this first drink with some deliciously fresh soft shell crab!
Why they are the perfect pair
Seafood is always typically paired with white wine, a fairly commonly known pairing. We wanted to challenge the status quo for this taster and give your tastebuds an experience. Lager’s are often described in the same way white wines you pair with crab - crisp, bright and uncomplicated, perfect for this seafood combination.
HEAT THINGS UP
The second tasting you will be indulging in is a house red - ask your server for a little more info on the specifics.
The wine has been paired with a lemon beef salad with prawn chips - amazingly good!
Why they are the perfect pair
A little more of a traditional pairing, lemon flavours paired with red meat need a crisp red wine to cut through the acidity which is what we find in this combo.
A SMOKEY FINISH
Your final tasting is a choice! You can choose between a red wine or beer!
We are matching this wine with a shredded beef which has a deliciously smokey flavour.
Why they are the perfect pair
These two are a great combination and again a little more on the traditional side of pairing red wine or strong beers with beef. Ask your server for more information on why we’ve chosen these two options for this dish.
This concludes your tasting at Trang Restaurant. We hope you enjoyed it!
Are you ready to move on?
Make your way outside back onto Hardgrave Road and look out for the world famous Sol Breads to turn right on Vulture Street. Your next and final stop is just quick walk down Vulture Street to Boundary Street….the name of your final stop literally translates to, “the Bull...:”
