A vest underneath would be good too, as you intend to rip your shirt off and head to the dance floor as soon as the speeches wind up. You’ve also got sweatbands on because you’re hoping to sneak off for a quick 50 pushups at some point. Standard.

Romance is in the air and no expense has been spared to celebrate the special union of Jennifer Love and Stefan Blake. It’s the wedding of the year and you’re invited.

It’s 6.50pm, the speeches are over and everyone is gradually moving into the Sapphire Lounge, ready ready for the much anticipated newlywed first dance - it’s all very exciting!  

Something seems amiss, the Best Man, Jasper, was meant to announce the Bride and Groom to the floor but where is he? Everyone carries on gossiping, ordering drinks at the bar and commenting on Jennifer’s bridal beauty whilst Shonnee Hatton, the maid of honour, wanders off in search of Jasper. 

A minute later a harrowing scream cuts through the air. A group of guests run towards the noise and find Shonnee standing over a body, shaking. Jasper’s lifeless body is lying in a pool of blood, his blue eyes wide open, unblinking. 

A barman calls emergency services and a small swarm of officers flee to the venue, Detective Timothy Toole is in charge. 

There’s no denying it, someone has murdered the best man! 

There is no weapon to be found.

The wedding day has been a whirlwind of champagne fuelled scandals, chats and confrontations. The grounds are large and guests have been flowing through the lavish rooms all day.  Anyone could have have witnessed the murder and anyone could be the murderer. 

Can you piece together the timeline and solve this ghastly crime?! 

To solve the crime, you will need to ask your fellow players as many questions as possible, adhere to your background information as accurately as possible. 

The game is designed for 6-12 people. If you’re playing with less than 12 people the murderer may or may not be amongst you this evening and there might be references here and there to characters that aren’t playing.

You are Pete Peters, the groom’s dopey and devoted best friend.

You’ve known the Blake brothers for over 15 years and have been their personal trainer for just as long. They’ve always had the brains and you’ve always had the muscles. 

Recently Jasper’s been slacking off on his training sessions because of his “multi-million-dollar business responsibilities,” he’s always boasting about something so you rarely pay much attention. The last time you saw him though he told you, mid-way through his abdominal crunches, that he fathered a daughter 17 years ago! No one else knows about it, not even Stefan, he’s never even met his daughter supposedly! Talk about keeping big secrets. 

As for you, you’re just plain old Pete with no secrets to hide, everyone knows you’re in love with Jennifer Love’s sister. A few weeks ago you went to the pub with Stefan and Jennifer and it was there that you met Jennifer’s sister Amy Love. Stefan warned you not to get involved with Amy but you immediately fell under her spell. You’re convinced you’re meant to be together forever!

Recently she’s been pretty slack on returning your texts but that’s ok because the night before the big day she sent you this...

Yes! This is your big moment to show her your dance moves, once she sees your famous Caterpillar on the dance floor no one’s gonna get your way!

You picked up Amy at 9am sharp and arrived at August Grounds at 10am, never one to be late! 

On arrival you kissed Amy on the cheek and said you’ll catch up with her later. You then joined the boys to get ready for the big day! Whilst you were helping Stefan put on his pink bow tie, Jasper said: “Well, little brother, today’s the big day you marry your reality TV star, what strange times we live in!” 

Jennifer made it big as a reality TV show star in her early 20s and she’s kept in the limelight ever since. You’d had enough of Jasper’s belittling and ramblings though so you nipped out of the room and headed into the gardens for a quick push-up session, every day’s a work out day! 

You recognised one of the waitresses setting up for dinner party, her name was Ruby Samspon and she’s a teenager at a local school nearby where you’ve recently taught a few gym classes. 

The photos took place around 3pm and you posed with Amy with a big smile on your face. Afterwards she told you to head inside and help with table seating, so you did. She joined you for the wedding dinner again. 

You sat with Nelly Woodville during the speeches and immediately after you nipped out again to do a set of burpees, your favourites! You then made your way into the Regent Room at around 6.30pm where Stefan and Jasper were playing a game of pool. They were in mid conversation when you entered and Jasper said: “Wow that family is something. Do you know Jennifer’s Dad used to be a gang member of the notorious Wesley Crew? What an old crook. You truly are marrying into the dregs of society Stefan.” With those last words Stefan marched up to him and punched him across the face.

Stefan went to hit him again but you grabbed his arms from behind and pushed him out the door. You told him to smarten himself up because it’s almost time for the wedding dance. 

As you waited in the Sapphire Lounge for the newlyweds to take to the stage, you found Amy and warned her that Stefan and Jasper had had a run in, you didn’t tell her the details. Jasper then failed to show for the newlywed dance…

You’re under Amy’s spell and there’s nothing you can do about it. She’s the most beautiful woman you’ve set eyes upon, she treats you like her puppy dog but you’re sure that’s just the way she displays her affection. 

Stefan Blake - Groom

Stefan’s been your best friend for 15 years. Jasper’s always belittled his younger Stefan but you’ve watched him stay calm and shrug off all ridicule. You know Stefan would protect you through thick and thin. 

Jennifer Love - Bride 

Jennifer introduced you to Amy a few months ago and you’re not sure if it was the worst or best thing that happened to you. 

Vinnie Fowler - Father of the bride

Today was the first time you laid eyes on Jennifer and Amy’s estranged father but Jasper’s often mocked them for their family ties, naming them the gangland sisters. 

Ruby Sampson - waitress

Ruby’s a 17 year old in her last year of school. You’ve taught a couple of circus training classes at her school recently but she’s always pulled out a sick note and sat on the bench.  She looks familiar in some way but you can’t quite put your finger on it.

We have some simple rules for you to follow in order to have the most fun and keep the game moving. Please make sure you adhere to them at all times!

Be the first person to win the game by solving the murderer before anyone else! Be strong in your guess as you can only provide one answer!

You should avoid sharing too much of your findings with other people unless they are an ally or you have an ulterior motive to do so. You all have enemies amongst the players and don’t want them to solve the crime before you do. 

This means avoiding questions like “Who was the last person to see the victim alive?” in the public chat. Piece together this information yourself.

Try to answer all questions honestly, unless your character bio says otherwise, the game relies heavily on the input of all players. Use all the information provided in your character bios to keep the plot moving!

Try and achieve your  Character Goals throughout the duration of the night. They are there for the benefit of your own characters.
