Romance is in the air and no expense has been spared to celebrate the special union of Jennifer Love and Stefan Blake. It’s the wedding of the year and you’re in the wedding band.  

It’s 6.50pm, the speeches are over and everyone is gradually moving into the Sapphire Lounge, ready to watch the newlyweds take to the dance floor. 

Something seems amiss, the Best Man, Jasper, was meant to announce the Bride and Groom to the floor but where is he? Everyone carries on gossiping, ordering drinks at the bar and commenting on Jennifer’s bridal beauty whilst Shonnee Hatton, the maid of honour, wanders off in search of Jasper. 

A minute later a harrowing scream cuts through the air. A group of guests run towards the noise and find Shonnee standing over a body, shaking. Jasper’s lifeless body is lying in a pool of blood, his blue eyes wide open, unblinking. 

A barman calls emergency services and a small swarm of officers flee to the venue, Detective Timothy Toole is in charge. 

There’s no denying it, someone has murdered the best man! 

There is no weapon to be found.

The wedding day has been a whirlwind of champagne fuelled scandals, chats and confrontations. The grounds are large and guests have been flowing through the lavish rooms all day.  Anyone could have have witnessed the murder and anyone could be the murderer. 

Can you piece together the timeline and solve this ghastly crime?! 

To solve the crime, you will need to ask your fellow players as many questions as possible, adhere to your background information as accurately as possible. 

The game is designed for 6-12 people. If you’re playing with less than 12 people the murderer may or may not be amongst you this evening and there might be references here and there to characters that aren’t playing.

You’re Nick, regretfully also known as Three Nipple Nick. 

Let’s face it, you’re a bit of an oddball. You often look distracted and in a world of your own. As the songwriter for your band, “Blue Wombats” you have a tendency to randomly break in song at inappropriate times, often mid conversation. 

Most people get stage fright and prefer talking in small groups but you like the opposite. You feel most at home on stage performing in front of fans who appreciate your music.   

At school you were bullied by none other than Jasper Blake. In fact, it was dirty Jasper who christened you Three Nipple Nick in grade nine after noticing the wart next to your left nipple! You’ve never gotten over the cruel sniggers and chants in the changing rooms . Even some of your family members call you by that name now. You’re convinced the name has even damaged your reputation in the music scene and sabotaged your career. 

A couple of months back Jennifer Love approached you after watching your band perform at a festival, she said she loved your vibe and invited you to play at her wedding. You wouldn’t usually dabble in weddings, (ahem, you’re too good for that!) but this one seemed different. You googled her name and couldn’t believe your luck. The groom’s brother Jasper will be at the wedding! Your chance had finally come to face Jasper again and get your revenge. 

Luckily for you, the bride has no idea who you are or what you’re planning.

You were backstage when you heard a commotion coming from the Sapphire Lounge, you peered out and saw everyone in hysterics and in a state of shock. Ruby came running up to tell you that Jasper has been found dead. She was almost giddy, like we were all part of a soap opera rather than a real life killing. 

You started the day planning the biggest and best revenge but clearly you weren’t the only one who hated Jasper’s guts. 

At 10am, you arrived at August Grounds, this was earlier than necessary but you wanted your act of revenge to go seamlessly. You, Ruby and Tripp Zoom all said hello to each other and August gave you a very flamboyant greeting, you don’t think he was expecting you to arrive so early either. 

Around midday you asked August for a bucket and rope, he told you to take a look in the scullery so you head over there. Bingo. Whilst you were there though, Ruby, the nosy waitress, asked what you’re up to. You ignored her and continued on. 

About an hour later you found a post-it note on the floor near August’s office that read:

You were in a rush so you just swept it to the side with your shoe and carried on walking. 

You distanced yourself from Jasper the entire day but you still spied on him coming on to the two bridesmaids separately. Disgusting behaviour. Unfortunately, Stefan, his goofy young brother and the groom of this sad event, spotted you just after the ceremony at 2.30pm. You gave him a smile from across the room and carried on fumbling about with your gig gear. 

At 4.30pm, the guests were in the middle of having their wedding meal. You realised that Ruby could actually be very helpful to you so you popped back into the scullery again.  You asked if she could leave all the food scraps in a separate bin and you’ll come back for it around 7pm, just before the first dance! She looked at you weirdly but agreed no the less. 

Yes, you were going to drop a bucket of leftovers on Jasper’s head as he announced the bride and groom to the stage, it was perfect.

Jennifer Love - Bride 

She’s a reality TV star come D-list celebrity who often appears in trashy gossip magazines. When she approached you after your gig you knew she looked familiar. She clearly had no idea that you went to school with Stefan and Jasper.

Ruby Sampson - Wedding staff - waitress

You only met Ruby for the first time this morning. She’s about seventeen and she’s grumpy. She doesn’t have any ties to the family that you know of though so she could be open to chatting with you more...she might be suspicious of you with all your random requests today anyway so it's best you nip that in the bud early on! 

August Wilde - Venue owner and wedding coordinator

This guy is too extra to be sincere. You don’t tend to trust people who are overly talkative and he’s definitely on edge about something - has he taken cocaine? You’re in the music biz so it wouldn't be the first time you’ve seen an addict.

Stefan Blake - Groom

Jasper’s younger brother. There’s no way you’re getting information from him. You’ve not seen him in years and after today you hope to never see him again. He’s a bit of a wet lettuce compared to his brother, still, you’ll be avoiding him at all costs. 

Nelly Woodville - Aunty of the Groom

You’ve never spoken to Nelly but you remember seeing her collecting Stefan and Jasper from school now and again. You also remember the day when the teacher announced that Stefan and Jasper will be off for a couple of weeks because their folks were in a fatal car crash.

You don’t want to tell people about your prank, it’s immature and foolish and people may start suspecting something more sinister. However, you don’t want people accusing you either! If Ruby or August asks you may have to tell them but avoid telling Jasper’s brother about the plan at all costs!

You don’t want to tell everyone about the note you found as this might be key information...it was near August’s office though...maybe you he knows something and you could trade information?

It looks like Nelly is Stefan and Jasper’s only relative, what does she know about Jasper? What relationship did Jasper and Stefan have these days?

Have a chat with the bridesmaids separately, what’s their relationship to Jasper? Do they know he’s playing them both? Maybe you spark some gossip around this?

Be the first person to win the game by solving the murderer before anyone else! Be strong in your guess as you can only provide one answer!

You should avoid sharing too much of your findings with other people unless they are an ally or you have an ulterior motive to do so. You all have enemies amongst the players and don’t want them to solve the crime before you do. 

This means avoiding questions like “Who was the last person to see the victim alive?” in the public chat. Piece together this information yourself.

Try to answer all questions honestly, unless your character bio says otherwise, the game relies heavily on the input of all players. Use all the information provided in your character bios to keep the plot moving!

Try and achieve your  Character Goals throughout the duration of the night. They are there for the benefit of your own characters.
