Romance is in the air and no expense has been spared to celebrate the special union of Jennifer Love and Stefan Blake. It’s the wedding of the year and you’re in the bridal party. 

It’s 6.50pm, the speeches are over and everyone is gradually moving into the Sapphire Lounge, ready to watch the newlyweds take to the dance floor. 

Something seems amiss. The Best Man, Jasper, was meant to announce the Bride and Groom to the floor, but where is he? Everyone carries on gossiping, ordering drinks at the bar and commenting on Jennifer’s bridal beauty whilst Shonnee Hatton, the Maid of Honour, wanders off in search of Jasper. 

A minute later a harrowing scream cuts through the air. A group of guests run towards the noise and find Shonnee standing over a body, shaking. Jasper’s lifeless body is lying in a pool of blood; his blue eyes wide open, unblinking. 

A barman calls emergency services and a small swarm of officers flee to the venue. Detective Timothy Toole is in charge. 

There’s no denying it…someone has murdered the Best Man! 

There is no weapon to be found.

The wedding day has been a whirlwind of champagne fuelled scandals, chats and confrontations. The grounds are large and guests have been flowing through the lavish rooms all day. Anyone could have have witnessed the murder and anyone could be the murderer. 

Can you piece together the timeline and solve this ghastly crime?! 

To solve the crime, you will need to ask your fellow players as many questions as possible, adhere to your background information as accurately as possible. 

The game is designed for 6-12 people. If you’re playing with less than 12 people this evening, note that there might be references here and there to characters that aren’t playing.

You’re the seductive social climber, Amy Love. 

You're the bride’s only sibling and her greatest competitor. You’re in the prime of your life and won’t let anyone get in the way of desires to be a top morning TV show presenter - it’s your life long dream. 

You and Jennifer both grew up in a dodgy suburb with your mobster dad. When your older sister, Jennifer, applied to be a contestant on a reality TV show, it launched her into the small screen spotlight and you’ve been riding her coattails ever since.  

You made it your mission to cut ties with your mobster father and everything about your working class childhood. You’ve even gone to the extent of putting on a plummy well-to-do accent around new friends and acquaintances, though your thick local drawl always creeps back in when you're amongst family members. How embarrassing!

Stefan’s brother, Jasper, is a shallow, rich and arrogant man and you like him for all those reasons. Maybe you could cuddle up to him and use him to relaunch your career? He’s got contacts everywhere after all. You know your sister’s best friend is madly in love with him, but that’s neither here nor there. 

Peter Peters, Jasper and Stefan’s personal trainer, is your date at the wedding today, but he’s a big dope and won’t notice you flirting with the Best Man. He’s just eye candy and an act of boredom really…shame.

You last saw Jasper when he made his Best Man’s speech at about 6pm. 

You and Peter arrived at August Grounds at around 10am. Once you were there, you went your separate ways. You headed to the dressing room with Jennifer, and Peter went in search of Stefan. 

You spent the first hour or so getting ready with Jennifer, her daughter Ocean, and Shonnee, the Maid of Honor. Your niece Ocean was off on a rant about something Jasper was doing, but you weren’t paying attention. You were too busy looking at the ugly bluebird brooch that Jennifer was wearing. What in the world was she thinking?! 

Once you were outside greeting guests, you gave Jasper a wink and a classic Amy Love smile. He smirked back. You’re in. 

The wedding ceremony was rather dull until you saw your dad skulking at the back. You couldn’t believe your eyes. Surely Jennifer didn’t invite him. Why was he here?! You decided to pretend not to notice him. He may wrangle his way back into your sister’s life, but you’re stronger than her. 

During the photos you noticed that Jennifer was no longer wearing that brooch. She must have seen sense just in time for the photos. Peter had his arm wrapped around you and you couldn’t help think what a lovely boyfriend he’d make…for someone else. 

Afterwards, you told Peter to head on inside and help Stefan with the table seating. You sashayed towards Jasper. This was your moment. You laughed and joked with Jasper and before you knew it, you were making out behind the bushes. Now this is what you call a fun wedding!

Jasper promised you he’d fix you up with a few contacts to catapult your career and so you went into the dinner hall feeling elated. The speeches were weird. Ocean threw Jasper under the bus for his recent business developments and the impact it would have on some bird migration path. It was the first you’d heard of it and hopefully the last. 

You spoke to Stefan and Jasper’s aunt, Nelly Woodville afterwards. She talked about raising Jasper and Stefan as boys and then she started getting crazy as she moved on to astrology and how Saturn’s in the 12th House. At one point she excused herself to check her phone and you made your quick getaway into the Sapphire Lounge in time for the first dance.

As you waited in the Sapphire Lounge for the newlyweds to take to the stage, Peter said Stefan and Jasper had had a run in about something. Jasper then failed to show for the newlywed dance…

Be the first person to win the game by solving for the murderer before anyone else! Be strong in your guess as you can only provide one answer!

You should avoid sharing too much of your findings with other people, unless they are an ally or you have an ulterior motive to do so. You all have enemies amongst the players and don’t want them to solve the crime before you do. 

This means avoiding questions like “Who was the last person to see the victim alive?” in a large group. Piece together this information yourself.

Try to answer all questions honestly, unless your character bio says otherwise,

The game relies heavily on the input of all players. Use all the information provided in your character bios to keep the plot moving!

Make sure you complete your Character Goals.

Each of you has some Character Goals listed for you to achieve throughout the duration of the night. They are at the end of your character documents. You must complete these. They are there for the benefit of your own characters.
